KLAS-TV LATEST TO ADOPT CHYRON AXIS ONLINE GRAPHICS SYSTEM


Melville, NY – July 22, 2009: Chyron (NASDAQ:CHYR) today announced that Las Vegas CBS affiliate KLAS-TV has adopted Chyron’s “AXIS” online content creation system.

KLAS needed to find a way to sustain newscast quality while reassigning the resources typically required solely for creating news graphics. It found the solution in AXIS, the world's first online content creation system for broadcasters and new media providers. 

AXIS is a SaaS (Software as a Service) package operating over the internet to provide high-quality graphics for broadcast and web-based video outlets. Requiring no hardware or software, AXIS enables anyone with an Internet connection to instantly fulfill broadcast quality news graphics, still or animated maps, bar and pie charts financial stock quotes, and weather graphics.

 According to KLAS Creative Director Lee Minard, “We now have traditional graphics people using AXIS right alongside newscast producers and directors. The simplicity of use for creating over-the-shoulder and full screen graphics has allowed us to easily and cost-effectively create graphic content for our programs without sacrificing quality. Our primary usage is for news, although it does support some of our weather requirements as well.
